Dear gem drop crew,
As this year comes to a close, I think we all take a moment or two, whether we do it consciously or not, and look back on the year that was. Does anyone else feel that it flashed by in the blink of an eye?? And you’re like, where the hell did that year just go?? I sure do!!
I look back on this year and all I want to do is take a big deep breath. I feel this, because I feel that I’ve survived. I feel that I have overcome all of the adversities and changes that I was faced with. Changes that were forced upon me, rather than my own choice. Changes that were so dramatic, they felt like they threatened my identity.
I look at these changes now, and I feel that they didn’t threaten my identity at all – rather it forced me to take stock and really think about who I am, what I stand for, what I’ve always believed in, what I’m meant to do with this wonderful thing called life.
Don’t get me wrong gem drop crew….it took me months to accept the changes. It took me a lot of soul searching; but once I finally realised that the changes made were actually a positive thing for me and my life, I have never felt more liberated. This clarity set me free...
Change should not be feared. I think we are conditioned as a society to fear the unknown. Let’s look at it from a different light, which is what I have taught myself over the past six months….let’s look at change as a new beginning. A new adventure. I mean, who doesn’t love an adventure? Sure, it’s going to have its ups and downs, sure it’s going to be a bit bumpy, but most of us are fortunate enough to live a long life, so this period of change may very well only be for a very short period of time in what is an extremely long life.
So gem drop crew, if you have been faced or are currently facing change in your life – as hard as it may seem right now – please embrace it. Let it unfold and see where it takes you. For you might just very well love the next chapter of your life. And if you don’t, then guess what?? You’re the author of your own life, so write a new chapter that you’re going to friggin LOVE!!!
Change – BRING IT ON!!
